Zapera expands in Sweden – acquires
leading on-line market research institute, QuickWise!

Zapera strengthens its position as
the leading Nordic online market research provider – up to 20 new
employees in Stockholm and Malmö are expected to join Zapera, making
the company the largest privately held Internet based research
institute in Europe
In the recent years, Zapera has
experienced explosive growth in The Nordic Region. To further
accelerate this growth and to focus even more on the Swedish market,
Zapera has made an agreement with QuickWise AB to acquire the
company’s Swedish operations.
- For a long period we have considered
how we could accelerate our business model even further in Northern
Europe. With it’s leading position on the Swedish online Brand
research market, QuickWise was an obvious choice. QuickWise is a
pioneer and market leader in the Swedish online research business.
The company’s success is based on its highly skilled employees and a
business clearly dedicated towards quality and client satisfaction
making QuickWise a perfect match for Zapera,” says Zapera´s CEO Lars
Lund-Nielsen.
Together the new entity will comprise
of 55 highly skilled and competent researchers and more than 120.000
respondents in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Poland.
The combined revenue will on a yearly basis reach SEK 60 mio. or € 7
mio. The acquisition means that Zapera will become the largest
independent privately held online market research institute in
Europe.
- In many aspects, QuickWise and
Zapera have followed the same path, demonstrating that our Internet
based method is an attractive alternative to traditional methods
such as telephone. Consequently, both companies have invested a
great deal of resources on securing the quality and representativity
of our research. It’s my belief that together we can provide our
clients the best quality & service, now offering an even stronger
Nordic setup than before, says Lars Lund-Nielsen.
QuickWise was established in 2000, and
rapidly took the position as the preferred Swedish Brand research
supplier. Since the start, QuickWise has pushed the market
development towards the use of the online method and is
unquestionably one of the most successful research institutes
established in Sweden during recent years.
In the Nordic countries the total
research market is approx. €700 mill. of which online research
accounts for less than 10%. In the years to come the share is
expected to grow immensely – primarily at the expense of traditional
telephone based research. Zapera is ready and able to take their
part of this growth.
- In the US, which is usually 2-3
years ahead of Europe when it comes to research, the online share is
now close to 40% of the total market. I have no doubt, that within
the next years we will see online research grow even further. It is
my ambition and belief, that Zapera will be one of the leading
forces in this development. Now with the acquisition of QuickWise we
are getting closer to this goal, says Lars Lund-Nielsen.
The acquisition awaits the Board and
Swedish authorities approval but is made public today. QuickWise
will continue to develop the European business offering through its
London office.
