Zapera delivers positive result for
2003
Thursday, 18 March 2004
In just four years the Danish online
research institute, Zapera, has moved more than 100 steps up the
ranking list, and today it is among the top ten research institutes
in Denmark. The company, employing 20 people, has offices in
Copenhagen and Stockholm, and this year it will come out with a
surplus of well over one mio. Danish kroner (app. 200,000 USD). It
has shown an annual growth rate averaging 30 percent in a Nordic
research market, where the average annual growth is no more than one
to two percent.
In the Nordic countries, online
research still covers less than five percent of the total market,
but over the coming years internet research will grow tremendously,
and the share of traditional telephone based research will decline
correspondingly. Zapera is ready to take its share of this growth.
”In the USA, which usually is two to
three years ahead of Europe, the online share is now up to 20
percent of the total research market. I have no doubt, that over the
coming five years we shall see the online share grow to cover up to
one third of the market. This will be a development, in which Zapera
will be one of the driving forces – with our special experience and
competence and our principle of quality and dependability. Our goal
is, that before the end of 2005, we shall be among the five largest
research institutes in Denmark”, says Zapera’s Managing Director,
Lars Lund-Nielsen.
Four years ago, he founded the company
together with his brother, Research Director Mads Stenbjerre. Today,
the company has conducted 1,500 online research projects – which is
the highest volume of online research of any institute in the Nordic
countries. On average, Zapera launches one research project per day.
The company’s clients are among the largest and most quality
conscious buyers of research in the Nordic countries. Among these
clients are Scandivian Airlines Systems, the Nordic banking firm
”Nordea”, the communication firm ”Telia”, and the medical firm
”Novozymes”.
Recently, Zapera has established a
unique nordic panel consisting of more than 70,000 respondents in
Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. The company establishes,
administers and completes research in a long list of customer
panels. Among the clients are the national Danish Radio & TV, the
department store ”Magasin”, the nationwide newspaper ”Berlingske
Tidende” and the Municipality of Copenhagen. Today, altogether
Zapera administers close to 150,000 panel members.
