Zapera continues its success
The Nordic MR agency Zapera.com A/S
has just published its annual accounts which show continued progress
in all areas. Compared to the last annual accounts (2006), Zapera
has seen an increase in turnover of 66% to a total of DKK 65.6
million and profits after tax of DKK 5 million are also the best in
the company’s history.

In the summer of 2007, Zapera
became part of the international market research group YouGov plc
which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Following the
takeover, Zapera also changed management as Lars Lund-Nielsen, who
had been Managing Director since he himself founded Zapera in 2000,
joined the YouGov group as Business Development Director.
Lars’ final action at Zapera was to
put his signature to the annual accounts.
- “Since its inception, Zapera has
been able to attract some of the best research professionals in the
business and I am very proud of the results that we have created
together. It is fantastic to be able to end my time at Zapera by
handing over the company with accounts that show the largest
turnover and the best profits ever,” says Lars Lund-Nielsen.
Lars Lund-Nielsen is replaced by Ole
Haghfelt. Ole comes from a position as Business Unit Manager with
Carlsberg, but has gained wide experience in the world of research
through senior positions at GfK and his time as co-founder and
partner in the consultancy Factivator.
- “I have followed Zapera from the
sidelines for several years and I have been very impressed with the
company’s development. Now Zapera has become part of YouGov, which
in my opinion is the most exciting research group in the world, so
when I was offered a chance to join the team, I didn't have to
consider it for very long.”
Part of the growth experienced in the last few years has been based
on company development and the introduction of several new products.
Zapera has, for example, developed its own tools for online focus
groups which have been very positively received in the marketplace.
Being a member of the YouGov group has
also contributed positively to the growth of Zapera. The
introduction in Scandinavia of BrandIndex, the research flagship,
which daily takes the temperature of a wide range of the world’s
leading brands, has been a great success.
- “I very much believe in the
international development work within the YouGov group,” says Ole
Haghfelt. “Zapera has already contributed to the group’s other
companies with its qualitative tools, but we are also getting a lot
of good things in return. BrandIndex was just the first step and the
market can expect a number of new research tools during 2009”.
